Chris - USA Triathlon Coach

I am a wife, a mom, a coach who began running during High School, continued through College as I found it to be a good outlet for myself. After years of running I started having knee problems so I began to swim and bike to help cross-train, that is when I was “curious” about triathlons. I signed up for my first Olympic race in 2009 and absolutely fell in love with the sport. I have been racing all distances from sprint-Ironman ever since, with a different love for each distance.

I am the lead coach of the Prairie Athletic Tri team, which started in 2012. I am going into my eighth year of coaching athletes of all abilities. Over the years I have learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to triathlon training and racing. I have had some success in my own triathlon career, with 5 Ironman finishes in 5 years, including 2 at the World Championship in Kona. I qualified and ran Boston in 2018 and recently qualified to go back in 2019. What I am more proud of is helping other athletes achieve what they believe is the impossible. My goal as a coach is to find the formula that works for each athlete, there are no two people who are alike, and each individual has their own journey.

Triathlon is more than a hobby, it is a lifestyle. It has taught me much about perseverance, discipline and accountability. I believe the key to longevity in this sport is to train with intensity, patience and to remain consistent. The best athlete is the one that shows up on race day injury free and ready to celebrate their accomplishments.
